Kota Kinabalu (Jan 10) - Parti Cinta Sabah president Datuk Seri Anifah Aman officially started his duties today as chairman of Qhazanah Sabah Berhad, the state government’s investment arm, following his appointment by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

In a short update shared on Facebook, Anifah said his first day involved a briefing from Qhazanah Sabah’s acting group chief executive officer, Rudy Jaglul, along with an introduction to the organisation’s senior management team. He expressed his commitment to carrying out the responsibilities entrusted to him in the best interests of the Sabah government.

Anifah succeeds former Sindumin assemblyman Datuk Yusof Yacob, who had held the position since January 2023.

The appointment comes shortly after another leadership change involving Sabah government-linked companies, with Hazem Mubarak Musa, son of Sabah governor Tun Musa Aman, being named chairman of Sawit Kinabalu and Borneo Samudera.

For Sabahans, Anifah’s appointment places a senior political figure at the helm of a key investment agency, which plays a role in shaping investment decisions, economic growth strategies and long-term development outcomes that directly affect livelihoods and opportunities across the state.
