
Kota Kinabalu (Feb 11) - Centre Point Sabah Shopping Mall is set to usher in the festive spirit with a vibrant Lion Dance Show taking place on 17 and 18 February 2026 at Palm Square, starting from 12:30pm onwards each day.
The two-day celebration will feature multiple renowned lion and dragon dance troupes from across Sabah, offering shoppers and visitors an exciting showcase of traditional performances in conjunction with the Chinese New Year festivities.
On 17 February 2026, the performances will begin at 12:30pm with Subang’s Lion Dance, followed by Yang Nam Inanam Lion Dance at 2:30pm. The day will conclude with a performance by Persatuan Tarian Naga & Singa Zhao Sheng Sabah at 4:30pm.
The celebrations continue on 18 February 2026, starting at 12:30pm with Persatuan Tarian Singa Fatt Chun Sabah. At 2:30pm, the Sacred Heart Inobong Dragon & Lion Dance Club will take the stage, before the event wraps up at 4:30pm with Cheng Yi Lion Dance.
The event is expected to draw families, tourists and members of the local community eager to experience the lively drumbeats, acrobatic stunts and symbolic rituals associated with lion dance performances, which are believed to bring good fortune and prosperity.
