Kota Kinabalu (Feb 10) - Cue sports enthusiasts in Sabah will have the chance to showcase their skills at the upcoming Cue Time Chinese 8 Ball Championship 2026, scheduled to take place from 28 February to 8 March 2026 at CueTime, Metro Town, Jalan Lintas.

The tournament, which will be held at Block H I-4, First Floor, Metro Town, Jalan Lintas 88450, Kota Kinabalu, is expected to attract top local players competing for cash prizes, trophies and a major international opportunity.

The champion will walk away with RM1,000 in cash, a trophy, and a round-trip ticket to China to compete in the Heyball Tournament, offering a significant platform for international exposure. The second-place winner will receive RM500 and a trophy, while semi-finalists will earn RM250 and a trophy each. Quarter-finalists will also be recognised with RM100 and a medal.

Participation is limited to a maximum of 64 players, and the tournament will follow a double elimination format, ensuring competitors have a second chance after their first loss. The event will also operate under a loser-pay table system, and participants are required to adhere to a smart casual attire dress code.

The registration fee is set at RM50 per player, with the closing date on 23 February 2026.

Organisers believe the championship will not only elevate the standard of Chinese 8 Ball in Sabah but also strengthen the local cue sports community by providing competitive opportunities and pathways to international tournaments.
