
Kota Kinabalu (Feb 13) - Festive cheer and cultural celebrations will fill the air at Elemen Utara, Kota Kinabalu, as the mall hosts its vibrant Chinese New Year Market on 14 and 15 February 2026, beginning 4pm onwards on both days.
The two-day event promises a lively marketplace atmosphere inspired by traditional Lunar New Year bazaars, featuring decorative stalls, festive performances and family-friendly activities. Visitors can expect an evening filled with food, entertainment and cultural showcases designed to bring the community together in celebration of the Year of the Horse.
Among the key highlights are lion and dragon dance performances, which will add energy and rhythm to the celebration with their symbolic movements believed to usher in prosperity and good fortune. Adding to the festive spirit, a special God of Fortune appearance will offer photo opportunities and well wishes to shoppers and families.
Children and families can take part in interactive activities such as face painting and craft sessions, making the event an engaging outing for all ages. A variety of food trucks and food stalls will also be on-site, serving festive treats and local favourites throughout the evening.
The celebration will culminate with a dazzling fireworks show, lighting up the night sky and marking the festivities in grand style.
