Kuala Lumpur (May 13) - Japanese watchmaker Casio has officially introduced the new G-SHOCK GMC-B2100ADS Full Metal chronograph in Malaysia, expanding its growing lineup of luxury-inspired metal timepieces aimed at collectors and lifestyle consumers.
The newly released GMC-B2100ADS-1A continues the evolution of the popular “CasiOak” design language, combining G-SHOCK’s signature octagonal bezel with a full stainless steel construction and premium finishing. The model is part of Casio’s expanding Full Metal series, which has gained strong traction globally among younger buyers seeking durable luxury sports watches at a more accessible price point.
The watch features a monochrome silver-and-black aesthetic, highlighted by a metallic vapour-deposited dial paired with contrasting black inset chronograph subdials. Casio says the design was developed to balance rugged functionality with a more refined appearance suitable for both casual and formal wear.
Unlike traditional resin-based G-SHOCK models, the GMC-B2100ADS uses a fully metal exterior, including the bezel, case and bracelet. Despite the heavier construction, the watch maintains the brand’s signature shock-resistant structure through the use of internal resin cushioning designed to absorb impacts.
The chronograph measures 51.3mm by 46.3mm with a thickness of 12.4mm and weighs approximately 171 grams. It also carries 200-metre water resistance, maintaining the durability standards associated with the G-SHOCK name.
In terms of features, the GMC-B2100ADS comes equipped with Tough Solar charging technology and Bluetooth smartphone connectivity through the CASIO WATCHES app. Users can access automatic time adjustment, world time functions covering hundreds of cities, phone finder capability, alarms, countdown timers and stopwatch functions directly from their smartphones.
The model is also positioned as one of the more technologically advanced full-metal analog chronographs within the G-SHOCK lineup, reflecting Casio’s broader strategy of moving further into the premium watch segment while preserving the brand’s core identity of toughness and utility.
The GMC-B2100ADS is now arriving at selected G-SHOCK stores and authorised retailers across Malaysia from mid-May 2026 onwards. Industry observers expect the release to attract strong interest from Malaysian collectors, particularly due to the increasing popularity of integrated-bracelet steel watches and the continued demand for premium Japanese timepieces.
In Malaysia, interest in high-end G-SHOCK models has expanded significantly over the past few years, with limited editions and full-metal variants frequently selling out shortly after launch. Collectors have increasingly viewed premium G-SHOCK releases as both fashion statements and long-term collectible pieces.
The launch may also resonate with consumers in Sabah and Sarawak, where demand for premium lifestyle products and collectible watches has steadily grown alongside rising disposable income and expanding urban retail developments.
Among online watch communities, early reactions toward the GMC-B2100ADS have largely focused on its striking dial finish, premium metal construction and strong visual presence. Some enthusiasts, however, noted that the larger case dimensions may not suit slimmer wrists, highlighting the model’s bold design approach rather than compact wearability.
