KOTA KINABALU - Sabah’s largest and longest-running pop culture convention, HOBBYCON, is set to make its return on December 13 and 14, 2025, promising a vibrant weekend of anime, cosplay, games and creative industry engagement.

The two-day event will be held at Kinabatangan Hall I, Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC), bringing together fans, hobbyists, artists, gamers and creators from across the state and beyond.

Now in its 18th year, HOBBYCON has established itself as Sabah’s premier pop culture convention, offering a platform that celebrates creativity without boundaries. This year’s edition features an exciting lineup of guests and attractions, including internationally recognised cosplayers Le Josette and 蚊子 Wenzi, as well as World Cosplay Summit (WCS) Malaysia representatives KingRusydi and Nekota.

Also appearing at the convention is guest comic artist Mokumentary, alongside special performances by Tigers Federation, adding to the event’s dynamic entertainment programme.

Beyond fan-focused activities, HOBBYCON 2025 places strong emphasis on industry engagement. Local animation studios such as INSPIDEA, Studio Ace Production, and Siung Films will be participating, offering aspiring animators and job seekers valuable opportunities for networking, career insights and industry connections within Sabah’s growing creative sector.

Visitors can also look forward to a wide range of attractions, including anime and cosplay showcases, game booths, merchandise, tabletop gaming areas, competitions, creative talks and interactive activities.

Ticket prices are set at RM30 for a two-day pass and RM20 for a one-day pass, while children under nine years old can enter for free when accompanied by a paying adult.
