The event, graced by Pantai Dalit Assemblyman Datuk Jasnih Daya, underscores a visionary push to integrate culture, commerce, and sustainability into Sabah’s economic future. Datuk Jasnih emphasized that the Dalit Bay Maritime Economic Development Plan (2026–2030) is more than just a blueprint—it’s a commitment to transforming Tuaran into a key player in global nautical tourism.

“This carnival isn’t just a celebration—it’s the start of a long-term revolution for Tuaran and the broader Sabah region,” he declared. “We’re not only showcasing our coastal treasures but also positioning Sabah as a premier destination for maritime enthusiasts worldwide.”

A Carnival with a Greater Purpose

Leading the charge as DBNC Chairman, Prof Dr. Jeffery Yap, who also serves as Managing Director of The Genuine Brands, shared that the carnival is designed to be a catalyst for tourism, investment, and international recognition.

“DBNC is more than an event—it’s a movement,” he explained. “By fostering multi-stakeholder collaboration and embedding ESG principles into our planning, we’re ensuring that Tuaran’s growth is both sustainable and impactful.”

Scheduled for 25–27 July 2025, the three-day extravaganza—organized in partnership with Sail Malaysia—promises a dynamic mix of activities. Highlights include the Tuaran Rally, featuring 29 yachts from 16 countries, alongside local crowd-pullers like the Oyster Royale MasterChef Competition, the Sea Dragon Cup, and a special Meet & Greet with Unduk Ngadau and Mr. Kaamatan 2025 winners.

International Expertise Meets Local Excellence

Sail Malaysia, a key partner in the event, brings a wealth of global sailing experience to the table. Managing Director Sazli Kamal Basha expressed pride in supporting DBNC 2025 as the official maritime partner

“Through the Tuaran Rally, we’re connecting Sabah with an international yachting community, driving both exposure and economic benefits to the region,” he said.

The launch also saw the presence of notable figures, including KDCA Women’s Council Chairperson Datuk Joanna Kitingan, SICC CEO Datuk Dr. Rosmawati Lasuki, Sail Malaysia Tuaran Rally Chairman Datuk Mohd Pintaz Badar, and DBNC Chairwoman Joanne Kimberley J. Majalap, all united in their vision for a thriving maritime future.
