
Kuala Lumpur (Dec 16) - Datuk Mustapha Sakmud, the chairman of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Sabah, has been appointed Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department in charge of Sabah and Sarawak affairs.
A prominent Sabah leader, Mustapha represents the Sepanggar parliamentary constituency and has played an active role in state and federal politics. Prior to his latest appointment, he served as Deputy Minister of Higher Education.
The announcement was made by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim during a special address unveiling the new Cabinet lineup, which also saw several leaders from Sabah entrusted with key federal responsibilities.
In the same announcement, Tawau Member of Parliament from Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS), Datuk Lo Sui Fui, was named Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department overseeing Federal Territories.
