Kota Kinabalu (Feb 1) - A bold musical collaboration blending punk, alternative rock and hard rock with orchestral arrangements is set to return to the Sabah capital with Bayu Indiechestra #2, scheduled for Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Hall Perdana, Maksak Likas.

The event will bring together five local indie bands on one stage with the Sabah Kinabalu Orchestra Club (KOKiS), offering audiences a rare live experience where raw guitar-driven energy meets the warmth and depth of string sections. The concept aims to reimagine familiar songs with expanded melodies, richer textures and greater emotional range.

The line-up features The Jembangans, Wrecktail, Spinning Toxic, Con-damn the Corruptor, and Goodbye Darling. Fans can expect a loud and lively night of punk, alternative rock and hard rock, elevated through orchestral collaboration in a setting rarely seen in the local music scene.

Bayu Indiechestra #2 is part of a local creative arts development programme supported by MyCreative Ventures and the Ministry of Communications, reflecting ongoing efforts to strengthen Sabah’s independent music ecosystem and encourage cross-genre experimentation.

Tickets are priced at RM40 for pre-sale, available until February 6, 2026, while door tickets will be sold at RM50 on the event day.
