Karnival Kongsi Raya 2026 to Celebrate Unity and Culture at SICC

Kota Kinabalu (Jan 31) - The spirit of unity and multicultural celebration will take centre stage as Karnival Kongsi Raya 2026 takes place from 6 to 8 February 2026 at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC).

The three-day carnival is set to bring together communities of all backgrounds in a vibrant celebration that blends Chinese New Year and Hari Raya traditions, reflecting Sabah’s unique multicultural harmony. One of the main highlights of the event will be an ambitious attempt to break an ASEAN record for the longest Muhibbah Yee Sang, symbolising togetherness, prosperity and shared celebration.

Visitors can also look forward to a variety of exciting programmes, including fashion competitions featuring traditional attire for both children and adults, Cheongsam showcases, as well as cultural performances that highlight Malaysia’s rich and diverse heritage. In addition, the carnival will feature special sales, interactive booths and activities designed for families, making it an inclusive event for all ages.

Lucky draws will be held throughout the carnival, adding further excitement for attendees, while the presence of VVIP guests, community leaders and representatives from various organisations is expected to enhance the significance of the celebration.
