The association emphasised the importance of selecting individuals with solid experience in youth empowerment, rural development, human capital development and environmental management.

SAHDEA President Arthur Erik (image) highlighted that these selections will significantly influence the government’s efficiency and its connection with the public. He underscored the importance of balanced regional representation, gender inclusivity, and the involvement of professionals from fields such as technology, social enterprise and environmental science.

“We hope to see capable administrators working alongside emerging leaders who represent Sabah’s wide range of talent and who are committed to long-term, inclusive progress rather than short-term gains,” he said.

SAHDEA also reaffirmed its readiness to work with the appointed leaders on initiatives aimed at improving socio-economic participation, expanding opportunities for youth and strengthening community-based development throughout the State.
